Dorygnathus bathensis Skeleton on Slab - Solid Color Replica
This pterosaur is from one of the classic Jurassic fossil localities in the world, Holzmaden, Germany. Dorygnathus (spear jaw) was one of the toothed pterosaurs, which had long, curved, front teeth, probably used to grab fish from the water. It had a short, three-foot (1 meter) wing-span and long, narrow tail. It was preserved along with fish, ammonites, crinoids, and reptiles in a shallow sea, which covered most of Europe in the Lias.
