Eremotherium eomigrans VERNE Giant Ground Sloth Claw - Display Replica
The giant ground sloth had the largest claws of any known mammal. Few dinosaurs had claws that compare in size to this mega beast!
The Eremotherium eomigrans giant ground sloth has five fingers on each hand, four of which end in massive claws. Although their claws look quite dangerous they were probably just used to pull vegetation down from above while foraging for food. The largest claw is 17 inches (43 cm) long. The external portion of the claw is more than twelve inches (30 cm) in length!
Available as an unpainted, unmounted cast suitable for some research or reference purposes.
Note: some portions of the original fossil may have been scientifically restored.
