STAN Tyrannosaurus rex® Tooth - 4.5" - Display Replica
The teeth of Tyrannosaurus rex were specialized to help them eat anything they wanted to! There were tiny serrations to help them cut through flesh and the tooth shafts are round in cross section for breaking through bone. The crown of the tooth is covered with hard enamel. The long dentine root was dissolved and reused by new teeth as they grew.
This is a cast of a mid-sized T. rex tooth from the lower right jaw (eleventh from front). It makes a nice stand-alone display or will work well when exhibited with the larger tooth and our T. rex shed tooth. The orientation of the serrations indicate the tooth's location in the skull.
